|Country Wedding - Sveitabrúðkaup (ICE)|
Country Wedding tells the story of Inga and Bardi, a couple who are about to marry in a small church in the Icelandic country side, an hour drive away from Reykjavik. Inga wants to keep things traditional and insists that the bride and groom must not see each other until the ceremony. Therefore, Inga and Bardi leave Reykjavik in two buses, with Inga and her family in one and Bardi and his family in the other. Things don't go as planned and not only do they have difficulties in finding the church, it turns out that almost everyone seems to have a skeleton in the closet.
This is Valdis Oskarsdottir's first feature as a director, but she is an acclaimed editor, having amongst other things received a BAFTA award for editing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind by Michel Gondry.
